Helicopter Island (Dilumacad Island)

Known as one of the most fascinating dive sites in El Nido is Helicopter Island, locally known as Dilumacad Island. It is home to one of the most sought-after diving spots—Dilumacad Tunnel. This accessible diving site in El Nido is open year-round and offers a thrilling dive experience close to shore. The tunnel's entrance is at 12 meters deep and stretches about 40 meters long, welcoming divers into an extraordinary underwater passage way. Inside, the tunnel reveals an enchanting world of colorful reef and marine life that creates an unforgettable diving adventure. 

Miniloc Island

Miniloc Island is home to some of El Nido’s most beloved dive sites. It showcases a perfect mix of vibrant coral gardens, abundant marine life, and gentle dive conditions. Diving spots like South Miniloc and Twin Rocks feature colorful reefscapes teeming with schools of snappers, batfish, and fusiliers, while smaller creatures like nudibranchs, pipefish, and anemonefish hide among the corals. Matinloc Island

Matinloc Island offers a unique approach for adventurous divers who seek both beauty and a touch of thrill. The island reveals its secret beauty to those who are willing to venture beneath the surface. After a short swim through the entrance leading to a quiet cove, it opens the portal to notable dive sites such as Banayan Point, Bikanayos Rock, and Inbogal Point, each showcasing colorful coral gardens, mesmerizing rock formations, and an abundant marine biodiversity. Schools of anthias, fusiliers, and butterflyfish swirl along the wall, while lucky divers might spot larger marine life like trevallies, barracudas, and the occasional reef shark cruising in the distance.

Paglugaban Island

This hidden gem near Miniloc Island boasts of a mesmerizing underwater realm of rock maze, where large boulders are draped in soft coral, with swim-through passages perfect for exploration. North Rock Island

Craving for the adrenaline rush of an action-packed dive? North Rock is a favorite among divers seeking for thrill. Its dramatic rock formations, steep drop-offs, and overhands create a hiding spot for marine life. In the open blue, divers can witness schools of tuna, barracudas, and the occasional reef shark. Closer to the reef, the likes of turtles and morray eels hide among colorful sponges and corals. Ideal for experienced divers, North Rock offers a dynamic dive experience in Palawan with both wide-angle encounters and detailed reef exploration.

The Best Time to Visit Coron and El Nido

Both Coron and El Nido offer excellent diving year-round, but if you want to make the most of your visit, the most favorable weather conditions are typically during the dry season from November to May. Divers can enjoy clear blue skies, the calm seas, and optimal underwater visibility, especially during peak season from March to May.

During the rainy season from June to October, experienced divers can enjoy this time for quieter sites, healthier reefs, and unique macro life. Dive sites usually remain accessible, depending on daily weather patterns.
